Alan Krathaus | BIOGRAPHY

Alan Krathaus is an artist/designer living in Houston, Texas. As a designer and partner in CORE Design Studio, Mr. Krathaus has worked with a variety of non-profit, art and educational organizations, as well as architecture, urban planning, retail and design-based companies. His extensive experience includes identity design, branding programs, environmental and wayfinding graphics, exhibition design, book design, electronic and web-site design, and print graphics.

Alan is a strong believer in both education and collaboration. Since receiving his Masters of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, he has taught design at the University of Houston and is a frequently invited guest critic at the University of Houston Architecture School. He has lectured at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Millersville University, University of the Arts, Philadelphia and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh.

As an artist, Alan’s photographs and installations have been exhibited nationally in venues including the Tang Teaching Museum, Saratoga Springs, New York; The Museum of Fine Arts Houston; the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Connecticut; PS 122, New York; Atlanta College of Art; and the New Center for The Arts in Troy, New York.

He spends the majority of his free time with his two young daughters.
