A piece done in collaboration with Brooklyn artist Theo Coulombe, this piece was installed by the front entrance to celebrate the opening of the New Museum and Arts Center in Troy, NY.—the original site of a Furniture Sales Showroom and Troy, the Home of Uncle Sam. The piece borrows from the original “I Want You” WWI Army Recruitment Poster, and through forced cropping, altered language and the addition of bar codes the piece becomes once again symbolic of need...this time with undertones of late 20th century desires, rampant consumerism and plays on the fact that the museum, once a place to purchase furniture, is a place to view ART.
